The Silver band indicates division of 100, or multiplication by 1/100 th. In this instance Gold is used to indicated a division of 10 or multiplication by 1/10 th. These are specifically used for resistor values less than 10 Ohm. From the Resistor colour code (see Table at top) it can be seen that two of the colours normally used to designated % Tolerance ( Gold and Silver) are also used in the multiplier band. ![]()
